BAKERY
Good old bread. Even the Lord's Prayer has it, and nothing can equal the enticing aroma of fresh bread. Nutritious and appetizing for its taste, aroma and texture, a slice or two of bread is the perfect accompaniment to your morning cuppa.
As you enter Gourmet Station, the aroma of baking will take you right to the natural goodness of our artisanal breads, made in small batches on site to guarantee freshness in every slice. Our Morning Goods selection of pure French Butter Croissants & Danish is a perfect accompaniment to our exclusive "Hot to Go" Coffees and Teas.
English muffins are also on our list. Flat with nooks and crannies, muffins are cooked on a hot girdle.
English muffins date way back to the 10th and 11th century Wales. In those days, they were cooked in muffin rings, which were hooplike and placed directly on a stove or the bottom of a skillet. By the 19th century, muffin men walked the streets of England at teatime to sell their muffins. Upon arriving in America, former Englanders started to add baking powder to the original muffin recipes. This gave muffins their current look with a crown, top and base.
If you are in for a tasty mid-morning snack, you can choose either a Blue Cheese & Crab Quiche or a Luxury Seafood Mini Pizza from our bakery. For those of us who like a little bit of sweetness in the morning, there is a delicious assortment of muffins and choux pastries.
